Our Environment Protection Planning efforts not only help to protect our environment, but also help to increase social equity,  and save money. This outlines our triple bottom line design adapted by the USGBC LEED. Tremendous cost savings are realized when organizations incorporate environmental sustainability practices and concepts into their business model, along with the fact that many of the consumers today would prefer buying products and services that are eco-friendly. This increases revenues for many companies.

Corporation 
Assistance

Due to structural differences, larger business needs are often similar while being much different. Finding investments that yield a return to continue business  growth, maintaining compliance with the government due to high regulatory provisions and requirements, finding skilled, qualified workers and identifying investment and tax incentives to increase margins.  We offer a number of services to help our local corporations connect with the community, be a part of environment protection planning efforts, locate financial options to increase profit margins and maintain compliance with our governments. We help corporations to locate and source high quality vendors in the local markets. Businesses are screened to ensure that they meet the necessary qualifications and that they provide quality services. Businesses must have performed for a minimum of 7 years. and are required submit a copy of past projects to be reviewed and screened.

Social Equity

We are committed to enhancing social equity, community health, and the quality of life by creating a sense of community, promoting access to neighborhood resources as well as opportunity resources. We work to increase local job opportunities.  We engage the community to define and implement a collective vision for resilience. We undertake efforts to broaden the industrial base with diversification initiatives (i.e. targeting the development of emerging clusters or industries)

Small Business 
Assistance

Small businesses play a crucial role in our economy. According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses account for 47% of the jobs held in the United States and makes up 44% of economic activity. District One  offers our local small business owners capacity building services. Services are intended to help our local business owners navigate current opportunities and find financial options to build their capacity to pursue these opportunities.Small Businesses ranging from startups to large corporations face a variety of issues today. Growth has been gradual or stagnant for certain industries, while others have seen drastic declines since the pandemic. Small businesses lack the necessary assistance needed to scale, grow, and increase the capacity of their business. Without the proper support 20% of businesses shut down after year 2, 30% of businesses shut down after year 3, 50% by year 5, and 65% by year 10.
